BiTA’s Board of Directors
As President, Burruss is responsible for the strategic direction of BiTA, oversees the activities of the BiTA Standards Council (BiTAS) and represents the Alliance at public and member events. A 27-year veteran of the trucking industry specializing in association management, Burruss served as president of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) for more than a decade. Prior to that he was President/CEO of the Tennessee Trucking Association and Vice President of the Missouri Trucking Association.

BiTA Board Member | FreightWaves Chief Analytics Officer
Because FreightWaves was the founding sponsor of BiTA Standards and runs the BiTA Community Forum, it has a seat on the BiTA Standards Board of Directors. Croke serves as FreightWaves’ member on the Board. He is active in standards development at BiTA and represents the Alliance at meetings and speaking engagements. Prior to joining FreightWaves, Croke was Vice President of Data Products at Spireon, where he led the development of high-frequency telematics data products. Croke was one of the founders of FleetRisk Advisors (which became Omnitracs Analytics) and has 35 years of experience in data analytics, transportation, supply chain management, data mining and insurance risk management.

Chief of Staff
Stark was previously BiTA’s Head of Commercialization. Because of its rapid growth, Stark is stepping back in to help BiTA manage that growth and plan for the near-term and longer term. Stark is building the FreightWaves Research Institute, the Freight.Tech 25 and data licensing partnerships. Stark has more than 18 years of experience in consulting, product management, strategy, project management and accounting with expertise in financial services, payments and transportation.

Membership Engagement Executive
Duff is responsible for promoting BiTA with members and prospective members. He is also responsible for member engagement initiatives deployed to add value to the BiTA Community, yield positive outcomes and attack the ‘pain points’ across the supply chain.

Managing Director, Asia-Pacific
Kaplan is responsible for promoting BiTA in the Asia-Pacific region. With a strong understanding of blockchain and distributed ledger technology, Kaplan will leverage his strong background and entrepreneurial spirit to oversee the growth the BiTA. Prior to joining BiTA he successfully started and grew various technology companies.

Vice President, BiTA-Europe
Haines is responsible for evangelizing BiTA in Europe. Prior to joining BiTA, he spent 15 years in the finance industry, first as a sales trader in the equity markets and for the past 10 years as a coal broker covering the physical and derivative markets at BGC Partners. He was involved in the industry standardization of coal contracts and specifications as well as educating market participants on risk management. During his time in the commodities market he was also able to build a deep knowledge of the freight market.

Director of Communications
BiTA’s communications, public and media relations, and website are Mall’s responsibility. He has more than 30 years of marketing and communications experience. Mall was Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Ryder System, Inc. and also had responsibility for transportation-related issues at the Grocery Manufacturers of America, Miller Brewing Company, the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and at two international non-profit organizations.
